One of my specialties is working with people as they navigate through different phases of the life cycle. During transitions or key developmental phases, stressors may arise that make it difficult to meet goals. While these problems may evoke anxiety, fear, or confusion, they often reflect important shifts that occur normally during development and are an opportunity for growth and expansion.
Crises may develop from various issues including:
-
separation periods occurring when a child begins school or college, graduates, or begins working
-
relationship issues that may include marriage, having children, separation or divorce
-
loss related to chronic or terminal illness, or loss of a loved one
-
work conflicts, including problems in achieving satisfaction with professional or financial success
The way one masters the previous developmental phase impacts on the ability to deal with the next one. Exploring the past and its impact on present experiences, can offer insights that will lead to increased mastery of subsequent developmental phases, and offer an opportunity for change and greater satisfaction. In our work together, you will gain a rich understanding of the ways that particular stressors impact you, and acquire increased control in making choices that lead to greater fulfillment of goals. I draw on my extensive psychotherapy training and years of clinical experience to offer guidance with a range of issues, from relationships, to role demands, to career coaching, to help you achieve a positive work/ balance.
