Couple therapy deals with a range of issues that impact on a relationship:

  • arguments and differences that can affect emotional or sexual intimacy

  • problems arising from different points of view or goals such as parenting or finances

  • determining whether couples can work through issues before they make deeper commitments or decide to marry

  • deciding when to make a decision to separate if problems or differences cannot be resolved

In most relationships, couples encounter periods when differences may arise and affect intimacy and threaten the partnership, impact on children, or affect work performance. I have extensive experience working with couples. My work focuses on uncovering underlying issues, opening communication and helping couples determine goals. Establishing safety and trust is an essential aspect in resolving issues and revitalizing relationships, which occurs within each relationship. Couple therapy may have a limited timeline, with the goal of resolving problems, or it may take place over a longer period of time when dealing with deeper issues such as intimacy or communication patterns.
